NOTE: I've altered some of these due to his situation/him not technically being a returnee.

INTERVIEW SAMPLE PROMPT
(The following scenario is available to all characters who are apping in and is considered canon - all returning graduates are assessed by staff members to catch up on their lives and to assess whether they’re suited to work at the academy.)

1. TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES SINCE GRADUATING.
The majority of my duties have been administrative in nature, though I'm no stranger to battle. As of late, our focus has been on Nightfall as you can probably imagine, though my co-workers' efforts have... left something to be desired.

2. WHY DID YOU VOLUNTEER TO COME TO DAYBREAK ACADEMY?
In general, it is my belief that both my colleagues and my superiors underestimate the tactical importance Earth could provide to daemonkind if conquered. Not only is this a resource-rich world, it's a very large resource-rich world, with many possible entry points into various parts of the Outlands. And that doesn't even touch the rune magic-infused technology and artifacts that humans have come up with that would fall into their hands.

It is of the utmost importance that Earth does not fall into daemon hands

Which leads me to my second point.

Daybreak Academy is... interesting. Somehow you've managed to recruit several daemons into championing your cause, including a few more infamous individuals. I'd like to see what it is about this institute that attracts this sort of attention with my own two eyes.

3. WHAT KIND OF TASKS DO YOU WANT OR EXPECT TO DO HERE?
I assume I would be expected to act as a TA while here, correct? In that case, I would be happy to aid in grading and clerical duties as long as they don't get in the way of my ultimate goal here. I can appreciate setting your students up for a life after Nightfall, but we are in a bit of a crisis here.

Outside of that, I offer my services as a tactical advisor on any missions you may need me. You should find my Clairvoyance useful to that end.

4. DESCRIBE YOUR COMMUNICATION STYLE AND YOUR CONDUCT AROUND BOTH FACULTY AND CURRENT STUDENTS.
Professionalism is key. While I am here, the faculty serves as much as my colleagues as they do my superiors. I expect respect and professionalism on their part as much as they would respect it on mine.

Students require a softer touch and an open mind. I am well aware that these are children, as that they are being trained to fight in a war they likely don't understand. It's important for us all to keep that in mind.

5. WOULD YOU BE COMFORTABLE WITH MENTORING CURRENT STUDENTS OR ACTING IN AN ADVISORY ROLE?
Of course. My proverbial doors are always open, both for academic and personal issues.

6. WHAT, IN YOUR OPINION, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR A SCHOOL TO PROVIDE TO ITS STUDENTS?
Education and guidance. It's not enough to grant your students knowledge--they should be shown how to use it to its fullest, both for their own sakes and the sakes of others.

7. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE STUDENTS WHO ARE DEFIANT, ACTING OUT, OR OTHERWISE AT ODDS WITH PARTS OF SCHOOL LIFE?
Sit down, take a deep breath, and focus on one thing about the world around you. It can be a flower growing through the concrete, the trees in the wind, or even the movements of the clouds in the sky.

Once you've calmed down, pick a goal and focus. Something specific and achievable. Figure out what you need to reach that goal and pursue it at all costs. You may find that you will have to deal with the aspects of school life that you hate to meet those goals, but remember to keep your eyes trained forward.

8. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE STUDENTS WHO ARE STRUGGLING OR DEPRESSED?
Much the same as above, though I would also suggest speaking with a therapist should depression be the issue at hand.

9. WHAT, IN YOUR OPINION, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON A STUDENT SHOULD LEAVE WITH?
Because I've been burdened enough with co-workers who dont, please make sure these children graduate with a measure of common sense.

10. WHAT, IN YOUR OPINION, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU WERE TAUGHT BEFORE YOU GRADUATED?
Common sense.

11. IF YOU COULD TELL CURRENT STUDENTS ONE THING ON GRADUATING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?.
Never stop trying to improve yourself. You've made it this far, so I know you have the ability to go even further.

12. DESCRIBE ONE OF THE POSITIVE EXPERIENCES YOU HAD AFTER GRADUATION.
This school seems willing to acknowledge that I know what I'm talking about, so I would count this conversation as one of them.

13. DESCRIBE ONE OF THE NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES YOU HAD AFTER GRADUATION.
I can't even begin to count how many times I've had to attempt to explain myself to a group of people who wouldn't know strategy from a game of I Spy. Luckily, persistence and reason have always seen me through.

14. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH? IS IT DIFFERENT TO WHAT YOU THOUGHT IT WAS AS A STUDENT?

15. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST WEAKNESS? AGAIN, IS IT DIFFERENT TO WHAT YOU THOUGHT IT WAS AS A STUDENT?

16. ONE OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF ACADEMY FACULTY IS PROTECTING STUDENTS FROM THAT WHICH MIGHT DO THEM HARM. THIS APPLIES TO GRADUATES AND ASSISTANTS AS WELL. TELL US HOW EQUIPPED YOU ARE TO DO THIS.
Proper planning and preparation should help to minimize injury during a mission. Failing that, I'm skilled with healing magic and am capable of defending both myself and others should the need arise.

17. WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE TO PROTECT CURRENT STUDENTS?
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but whatever it takes to ensure students who are Candles or have the most experience survive. Unfortunately, this may mean risking the lives of other students and less powerful or skilled faculty members in the process. I would prefer it never come to that and will do everything in my power to make sure that it doesn't, but we have to acknowledge that these situations may exist if we want to avoid them.
