CANON INFORMATION
CHARACTER NAME: Christo
CANON: Disgaea 5
HISTORY:
Wiki link
Lamington's wiki entry (as I'll be taking a few cues from his older self as he gets much needed character development)
STRENGTHS:
Analytical: Christo pays close attention to the world and people around him, able to take what he learns and adapt at a moment's notice. He's also the sort to research a situation as much as he can before dipping his toes in the water to ensure he has every advantage possible.
Cool-headed: He is capable of keeping calm and level headed in most situations, facing adversity with a smile and pushing onward.
Good-Hearted: For all his flaws, Christo is, ultimately, a good person and tries to do what he thinks is best for the people around him. He will not ignore another person's suffering, and if given a choice between an easy win with high casualties and a very difficult win with low, he will already choose the latter, the former an absolute last resort.
FLAWS:
Ruthless: It doesn't take much for those around Christo to go from people to pawns in whatever game of chess he's playing, especially when he believes his schemes are for the greater good. He will use other people as a means to an end and isn't above a little blackmail to reach that end. He is a firm believer in "the ends justify the means."
Arrogant: Christo believes that he knows best. Should others disagree, they will either see in time or are fools ultimately unworthy of his time. This isn't to say that he thinks he's infallible, just that it might take him a little longer to realize that he's wrong if that conclusion is coming from someone else.
Poor Liar: Though far from incapable of deception, Christo is a man who needs to rely on lies of omission, especially when put on the spot. When he thinks he's caught in a lie, he tends to get visibly flustered.
CANON ABILITIES:
- Healing Magic: Like most angels, Christo is skilled in the healing arts, even capable of adjusting his magic to work on demons.
- Light Magic: Similar to the above, but with light magic being used to attack others, either concentrated in arrows/darts or in a large, sweeping beam attack.
- Occhi Clairvoyance/Evangel of Purity: His special ability. In game, it increases the accuracy and evasion of all allies on the map. Story-wise, it allows him to detect any individual based on their magical signature from anywhere in the cosmos.
- Flight (due to the four large angelic wings that he is capable of showing or hiding at will)
- Bow Proficiency
- Healing Blood: The blood of all angels in the Disgaea universe is capable of healing any injury or sickness when consumed. However, it is expressly forbidden for angels to use their blood in such a manner or even to let anyone know that they are capable of doing so.
- Minor Illusion: This is more inference than anything else. Since angels have round ears in Disgaea and as Lamington in D1 has blue eyes, I believe he uses some sort of illusion to make it seem otherwise.
He also has 20/20 vision. The glasses are just a fashion statement.
AU INFORMATION
AU CHARACTER NAME: Lamington (going by Christo in DB)
AGE: 2147
GRADE: Grad Student
AU BACKSTORY: Lamington's skill as a tactician made him stand out from his peers even at a young age, and his intelligence only served to push him even further. He was a man with big ideas, a competent young man determined to take Celestia in a new direction. Unfortunately, his skill led to arrogance and won him no friends among his fellow Archangels or even many of his subordinates. He was too pushy, too cold, too ruthless, a cold-blooded schemer who thought he was better than everyone else.
But that was fine with Lamington. He didn't need friends. He just needed to reach his goal.
Unluckily for him, the current Seraph took an interest in Lamington. The man was happy-go-lucky, airheaded, seemed to lack a serious bone in his body, and just wouldn't let the whole lack of friends thing go. Worst of all, he was the only one who seemed to take what Lamington said seriously, so he had to deal with him if he wanted to get anywhere.
Eventually, talks turned to Nightfall. Most of the Archangels preferred to stay out of it. Humans had made it just fine without angelic intervention so far, and it seemed more prudent to keep watch over Celestia. Lamington disagreed. There was no telling what sort of damage would be wrought if daemons were to wipe out humanity.
To his surprise, the Seraph agreed.
Plans were made to send support, but wanting to be more hands on (and with the Seraph's encouragement) Lamington headed to Daybreak as a graduate student after an inspiring research montage.
Taking the pseudonym Christo, he keeps his true rank of Archangel a secret, occasionally reporting back to his superior via a cellphone with impressive cross planar coverage.
AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION: He's more like he is at the beginning of D5, since he hasn't been around anyone other than angels. He'll probably be warmer/less manipulative with the students as well, since for the most part they're kids and not daemons or fae.
RACE: Angel
SECRET SOCIETY:
Celestia is one of the larger angelic realms located in the Outlands. It is headed by the Seraph, a ranking bestowed based on the power and merit of a particular angel. Below the Seraph are the Archangels, who act as a combination of politician, general, and moral guide depending on what's necessary at the time. The Celestial Host are beneath them, and Angel Trainees are at the lowest rung. The latter consists mainly of children and the souls of humans newly chosen to become angels.
Celestia used to be more involved with humanity, hunting down daemons for those who prayed for God's intervention. However, as humanity became better able to protect itself, the angels distanced themselves, content to let humans fend for themselves and focus on keeping their home daemon free.
POWERS: Same as in canon for the most part, but without going ott Disgaea. So Gospel of Power won't go leveling buildings and he can't blow up the sun.
Occhi Clairvoyance in DB will work as follows:
- Requires active use--not a passive ability
- Can pick up signatures of a group/battallion and their approximate location and number.
- When focusing, can pick out individuals, their power, and exact location with the drawback of that individual being the sole focus of his Clairvoyance
- Location outside the current realm (Outlands vs Earth, etc.) takes considerably more focus, to the exclusion of all else.
If mods allow, I'd like for him to eventually be able to locate individuals outside the current plane with more ease (putting it at about the level of difficulty of locating an individual in the same plane) once he gets some significant character development. In other words I want it to mirror his upgrade to Evangel of Purity in canon.
HOUSING: No preference, willing to RA
